Angie Smith - "We came to Parker Montessori from a national chain daycare in Parker. My two-year-old son was having a problem with biting and he wasn't talking at school, even though he was talking lots at home. We moved him within days of our tour. From his first day the biting stopped AND he was talking! I believe the instant change was because the teachers actually talked to him as an individual person and showed interest in his work. Also, the Montessori environment is great for him because everything has a process. He seems happier at home and is certainly happier during the day. We are so happy to have found Parker Montessori!"

Jason, parent of two students - "The toddler teachers at Parker Montessori are phenomenal. Our daughter has grown in confidence and ability - I am certain her huge progress in language and practical skills this year is a direct result of her being in such a nurturing and creative environment."

Montessori Toddler Program

Our smallest students have big personalities!

Parker Montessori’s Toddler class serves children from 15 months (and steadily walking) to 3 years of age. The toddler room provides a nurturing, safe place for young children to gain independence, confidence, practical and social skills. Our families says that they value the love and care we provide, and the age appropriate stimulation that is provided during their time with us.

The Classroom

Our classroom is furnished with toddler-friendly Montessori works. The classroom has materials that will provide experiences that stimulate the senses, enrich the child’s vocabulary and understanding of language. There is a quiet, comfy library to sit and look at a book. Our goal is to give children the opportunity to learn, through their experiences, a sense of self esteem and self confidence. There is a separate outdoor area that is set aside specifically for Toddlers and has its own garden, sandbox, and play equipment.

A Sample Toddler Day

The Toddler schedule adds structure to the day while allowing traditional Montessori independence and choice. Our teachers guide the students during activity times, which include:

  • Morning readiness encouraging independent practical skills (change shoes, coats off and put away, toileting)
  • Small group work
  • Independent work
  • Snack
  • Reading books
  • Singing songs
  • Sign Language
  • Spanish
  • Outside time
  • Circle time: songs, stretching, movement activities
  • Large group work
  • Lunch time (full day students, an option for Half Day students)
  • Nap time (full day students)
